Artist’s Statement

Above: Me in the old home town, London

I would describe myself as a "Creative, Mixed Media" artist with a Impressionistic, modern style. I like to express life and life’s experience in my works; trying to capture the essence of a subject, rather than the subject itself.

I have tried many different styles, techniques and mediums over the years.
My favourites are acrylics, inks, water colours, Asian papers and many types of texture mediums on paper or canvas. Design, Colour & Texture are the elements that I love to use.
Art, like life, is very much a journey of discovery.
I am inspired by artists, Pat Dews, Mary Todd Beam & Maxine Masterfield,Picasso & the french Impressionists, to name but a few.
Although I started art 30 years ago, working in a realistic style by drawing and painting animals and people, I have been working seriously, painting, learning and ‘more learning’, for the past 8 years!
I have taught beginner -intermediate adult art classes as well as several childrens workshops.
I am currently represented by "The Gallery" in Kangaroo Valley  (details in News & Exhibitions page). I now have a new home studio  situated at 1/27 The Boulevarde, Oak Flats NSW Visits by appointment. Ph; 0411 197254
